Endothelialcellmedium–noglutamine(ECM-NG),whenusedwithEndothelialCellGrowthSupplement(ECGS)andFBSisacompletemediumdesignedforoptimalgrowthofnormalendothelialcellsinvitro.Itisasterile,liquidmediumwhichcontainsessentialandnon-essentialaminoacids,vitamins,organicandinorganiccompounds,hormones,growthfactors,tracemineralsandalowconcentrationoffetalbovineserum(5%).ThemediumisHEPESandbicarbonatebufferedandhasapHof7.4whenequilibratedinanincubatorwithanatmosphereof5%CO₂/95%air.Themediumisformulated(quantitativelyandqualitatively)toprovideanoptimallybalancednutritionalenvironmentthatselectivelysupportsthegrowthofnormalendothelialcellsinvitro.
